Foreign Minister calls on President Erdogan of Turkey

Chief Justice Receives Ambassador of Turkey to Sudan

Sudan's Chief Justice, Professor Haidar Ahmed Daffala, on Wednesday received the ambassador of Turkey to the Sudan, Irfan Veziroglu.

The meeting reviewed areas of cooperation between the two sides in the various domains and the judicial field in particular.  The Chief Justice underlined the enteral and strong bonds that link the Sudan and Turkey and Khartoum's keenness to reinvigorate cooperation between the two sides. The Chief Justice has pointed to his recent visit and participation in a conference about international law in Istanbul, 2016.

Foreign Minister Meets Turkish opposite Number

Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour met, Tuesday, his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt ?avu?o?lu on the sidelines of the activities of the Turkish African Partnership Conference, in the Turkish capital of Angara .

Trade Minister announces resumption of exchange of goods and services between White Nile State and South Sudan

The Minister of Trade Hatem Al-Sari has announced resumption of border trade and the exchange of goods and services between the White Nile State and the State of Southern Sudan in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic and the outcome of the national dialogue. This came during his visit to the White Nile State Tuesday heading a delegation including the Director of the Sudanese Customs Authority, the Director General of the Sudanese Organization for Standardization and Metrology, the Union of Employers and the Chamber of Commerce, where the delegation were received by the Wali (governor) of the White Nile State Dr. Abdul-Hamid Musa Kasha and the members of his government and the security committee in the state.

FVP meets delegation of German Company of Siemens

The First Vice-President of the Republic and National Prime Minister , Lt. Gen. President Bashir says Sudan works to achieve political stability

The President of the Republic, Omar Bashir, has commended the role of the Sudanese Bar Association in helping implement justice and supporting due process of law. The President on Tuesday received a delegation from the Bar Association led by its chair lawyer Osman Mohamed Al Shareef.  The President commended the fair and free elections of the lawyers Union, saying he stands behind all issues of concern to the lawyers in the country.

UK ambassador says his country supports peace process in the Sudan

UK ambassador to the Sudan, Michael Aron on Sunday said his country fully supports peace realization in the Sudan in particular, and in the African region, in general. The ambassador pointed in statements following his meeting with the Minister for Information, Dr Ahmed Bilal Osman, to the need to achieve peace in the Sudan and in the African region in generals saying his country, through its troika membership along with the USA, and Norway, backs the efforts exerted by the African Union High level implementation Panel led by President Thabo Mbeki.However he said he was disappointed that the latest meeting held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, did not culminate in achieving peace with the SPLA-North.

Chief of General Staff of Kuwaiti Army arrives in the country

The chief of staff of the Kuwaiti Army, General, Mohammed Khalid Al-Khider, arrived in Khartoum on Saturday evening for a two-day official visit to Sudan .He was received, at the Khartoum airport, by the Joint Chief of Staff, General Engineer, Emad Eddin Adawi and the Ambassador of Kuwait in Khartoum, Bassam Al-Qabandi . During his visit to Sudan, which is consider the second of its kind, will participate in the graduation ceremony of the War College .

Sudan and Egypt on Thursday underlined the strength and eternity of the relations between the two countries and the unity of the fate of the two nations, their desire to boost brotherly relation and to maximize the areas of cooperation. Sudan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia meets Saudi-Emirati-Sudanese investment delegation

 The Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul-Basset Badawi Al-Senoussi received at his office Thursday a Saudi-Emirati-Sudanese investment delegation, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Mansour bin Naïf bin Faisal bin Saud bin Abdul-Aziz and Advisor Abdullah Al-Breiki of Emirate Ersal Exchange Office, one of the Dubai Remittance Group and Magdi Hassan.
The delegation briefed the Ambassador on the steps taken to open a money exchange office to allow for direct remittances between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The delegation explained that they were in the process of completing the formal procedures with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency to start work immediately, pointing out to their meetings with the concerned authorities in Sudan including the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS).

AfDB mission to Sudan next week

The Consultative Mission of the African Development Bank's (AfDB) Executive Directors is due to pay a visit to the country next week during 11-15 of the current February, where it starts holding of meeting next Monday at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. The Board of Executive Directors arranges a visit to a two Member States of the Bank each year as part of the consultative program with Member States. This year, Sudan was selected as the Consultative Destination of the Executive Directors Mission. The visit comes within context of getting acquainted with the economic and social programs and to get informed on Sudan's developmental needs and the state's efforts to achieve political stability.

Al-Basher Receives Recommendations of Tourism Forum

 President of the Republic, Field Marshal, Omer Al-Basher who is on visit to the Red Sea State to participate in the activities of the State's 11th Festival of Tourism and Shopping, received, Wednesday, the recommendations of the Tourism Forum which is organized by the State's Ministry of Tourism . The recommendations include the promotion of tourism industry in Sudan, attraction of tourists through facilitation of entry visas, opening of new international airlines, opening of tourism colleges in the Sudanese universities and spread of tourism culture in Sudan's community . The festival is organized in coordination with Nahr El-Neil, Shumaliya, Sennar and Khartoum states .

Speaker to head Sudan's delegation participating in Arab Parliament sessions in Cairo

 Speaker of the National Assembly, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed Omer will lead Sudan 's delegation next Friday to meetings of the Arab Parliament which will take place in Cairo, Egypt.

Ghandour and Atta to visit Egypt Wednesday

Foreign Minister, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour and Director-General of the National Intelligence and Security Service(NISS), Lt Gen. Mohamed Atta will start Wednesday a two -day official visit to Egypt.

Prof. Ghandour and Lt. Gen. Atta will meet with their Egyptian counterparts and hold a series of meetings on putting a roadmap for addressing all files and issues concerning relations between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry's Official Spokesman, Ambassador Qareb -All Al-Khidir said the visit comes one of fruit of directives of the bilateral summit between Presidents Al-Bashir and Al-Sisi on the sideline of the 3th African Union in Addis Ababa.

Undersecretary of Justice Ministry Meets US State Department Delegation

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Ahmed Abbas Al-Razam held, Tuesday, a joint press conference with the US Foreign Office, currently on a visit to the country . Al-Razam has underlined that the three day-visit to Sudan was in response to an invitation extended by the Foreign Ministry to discuss issues pertinent to crime of the human trafficking with the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, adding that the US delegation was briefed by the concerned circles on the efforts being exerted by the government of Sudan, in this connection . Meanwhile, , Joel Mayberry, Deputy Director of the Office of Monitoring and Control of Human Trafficking of the US Department of State, said that the delegation met with many concerned bodies including the government institutions , international and voluntary organizations in Sudan that briefed it on the efforts of Sudan to combat the phenomena.

Foreign Minister meets a group of Italian companies

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour on Wednesday received representatives of Italian industry and agencies businessmen to brief them on economic and investment opportunities in the Sudan. 

The Minister briefed the Italian businessmen about the current political and economic developments in the country pointing to the resources Sudan enjoys and the incentives the country offers for investors and the possibly of entering new African and regional market upon investing in the Sudan.

The minister also briefed them on the positive aspects brought the revocation of the American economic sanctions which used to obstruct economic and investment in the country, saying all obstacles frustrating investment in the country have now been removed by the removal of the sanctions.

President Al-Bashir directs resumption of border trade with all neighboring countries

 President of the Republic Field Marshal Omar al-Bashir has given directives on resumption of border trade with all neighboring countries to shut all the smuggling gates of Sudanese goods and products across the border.

President al-Bashir gave, during his presiding over the meeting of the committee on the control of the exchange rate at the Republican Palace Monday in the presence of First Vice-President of the Republic and National Prime Minister Bakri Hassan Saleh, a package of directives on controlling the exchange rate and combating smuggling of gold and other products.

The Trade Minister Hatem al-Sir announced, in statements to the press after the meeting, that a forum gathering the state governors would be held during this month to discuss how to regulate border trade with neighboring countries.

The minister added that the meeting also directed combating of the monopoly of goods in the markets and opening of windows for direct sale to the public as well as the expansion in the reduced sales markets for citizens.

"The meeting directed tightening on the gold markets by increasing the members of the mineral police and providing them with all work aids to prevent and control all attempts to smuggle gold," said Hashem Ali Salem, the Minister of Minerals, referring to the improvement in the percentage of gold purchased through the Central Bank of Sudan which reached 60 percent.

For his part, the State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Dirar revealed that the government was in the process of making amendments to the Customs Law authorize the confiscation of all goods smuggled and means of smuggling.

Minister of International Cooperation meets AfDB Country Director

The Minister of International Cooperation Idris Suleiman discussed at his office Monday with the Country Director of the African Development Bank (AfDB) the role of the Bank in the economic and social development in Sudan, particularly in the fields of agriculture, health, water, infrastructure and poverty reduction. 

The Minister of International Cooperation said that AfDB played a major role in promoting economic development in Sudan, calling for coordination of efforts with other development partners, pointing out to the importance of benefiting from the added value of gum Arabic production as well as construction of silos for grain storage.

Gulf Bank exerts efforts to raise banking exchange volume between Sudan and UAE

In a move to increase the volume of banking exchange between the two countries after obtaining the approval of the Central Bank of Sudan, the Gulf Bank-Sudan has embarked on establishment of a branch in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"The next stage will witness the completion of the Gulf Bank the UAE requirements for the opening of the bank's branch there," Shaza Abdul-Al, the Public Relations Manager at the Gulf Bank-Sudan, told SUNA.
Shaza pointed out that the Gulf Bank was the product of a UAE-Sudanese partnership that represents an extension of the economic exchange between the two countries, which started decades ago, explaining that the timing of this step serves the banking sector in the country, which drives towards a new economic era in the light of the lifting of US sanctions and the great openness to other states.

Foreign Ministry expresses strong condemnation to terrorist blast in Ankara

Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the terrorist bomb blast which hit tax office in Ankara and caused huge damage on last Thursday in a crime that contravenes all values and humanitarian principles.

In a statement issued Saturday , the Ministry expressed rejection and denunciation to all terrorist acts , targeting incent people and terrorizing civilians that contradict all religions and international laws.

The Ministry expressed anew Sudan's full solidarity and support to Turkish Government in confronting the heinous criminal acts.

Governor of Central Bank Affirms Firmness of Sudan-UAE Relations

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Hazem Abdulgader Ahmed has affirmed the deeply rooted Sudan-UAE relations .

The governor who met, Thursday, at his office, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan, has affirmed that Sudan works for strengthening its relations with the UAE to be strategic relations, adding that he Bank of Sudan will continue its cooperation and coordination with the concerned UAE circles to remove all the obstacles and encourage the inflow of the UAE investments in Sudan, specially, in financial and banking fields .

The UAE Ambassador has affirmed the distinguished relations between Sudan and his country, adding that the UAE gives due concern over the investment in Sudan .

Badriya Suleiman and Egyptian Counterpart Call for building strong relation

The Deputy Speaker of National Assembly, currently on a visit to Egypt, met, Thursday, her Egyptian Counterpart, at the Egyptian parliament in the presence of the Sudanese Charge D' Affaires , in Cairo, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Bushra .

The meeting discussed building of strong bilateral relations between Sudan and Egypt and means for developing them further .

The two sides have stressed the necessity for establishment of firm relations away from media campaigns .

They called for the importance of establishing rules and laws governing the relationship between the two countries and not to leave the matter to the media in both countries.

The ambassador of Sudan to Saudi Arabia, Abdul-Basit Badawi al-Sanousi, met Thursday the Editor-in-Chief of the Riyadh Newspaper and reviewed with him number of media issues of common concern.

Sudan and Belarus agree to establish several investment and industrial projects

The Sudanese and Belarusian sides have agreed to set up projects to exploit gas, manufacture agricultural equipment, produce and export agricultural crops and to improve animal resources and slaughterhouses and export meat.

The Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Abdul-Rahman Osman said, at a press conference held with the Minister of Oil of Belarus at the conclusion of the meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee at its fourth session at the Oil House in Khartoum on Tuesday, that the meeting coincided with the forum of businessmen in both countries and the delegation participation in the Khartoum International Fair, affirming that the importance of the forum emanated from the fact that it came after signing the minutes of the protocol of the third meeting and facing the difficulties that accompanied its implementation. He pointed to the importance of lifting the US embargo in facilitating banking transactions which will enable companies and businessmen to perform their duties, alluding that there are many opportunities that the Sudanese businessmen can benefit from them. The minister pointed out that the opening of an embassy for Sudan in Belarus would enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Sudanese-French Forum emphasizes joint cooperation in agricultural field

The Sudanese-French Forum, which was organized by the Sudanese Employers' Union Tuesday at the Industrial Chamber with the French ADAPTA Company working in the field of agricultural services and the Akzma Company working in the field of agricultural machineries and technology, discussed joint cooperation in the field of agriculture

The State Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Sabri Al-Daw urged activation of the partnership and the relationship between the Sudanese and French private sectors as well as creation of a climate for the revival of the promising new agricultural projects.

"This meeting is part of the memorandum of understanding signed in Paris last year," said Bakri Youssef, the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Employers' Union, adding that in the framework of the partnership with the national private sector, which is allocated 80 percent, by focusing on agriculture and animal production, adding that this is a start for opening a relationship with France.

Russian businessmen delegation reviews ways of investing in mineral sector in Sudan

The Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce, the former President of the Republic of Kalmykia, one of the Republics of the Soviet Union, Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov, has affirmed that Sudan was deemed as one of the rich countries in natural resources.

During a meeting with the Minister of Minerals Prof. Hashim Ali Salem Tuesday, Ilyumzhinov who are on a current visit heading a high-level delegation of Russian businessmen, pledged to transfer Russian technology to the mining sector in Sudan,.

It is to be recalled that the delegation of the Russian Chamber of Commerce included a number of businessmen and experts in various fields to get acquainted with the potentials of Sudan in the mining sector. Speaker of Parliament Receives Envoy of Azerbaijan President

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, Tuesday received in his office the envoy of the President of Azerbaijan, in presence of the Chairman of the parliament's external relations committee and the Consul of Azerbaijan to Sudan.

The envoy has handed Prof. Omer an invitation from Azerbaijan President to visit Azerbaijan.

The Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee Supervising Sudan's Relations with the BRICS Countries, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz reviewed with the South Africa Ambassador to Sudan means for speeding the up implementation of the agreement reached during the past period in the context of the strategic cooperation between the two countries .

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has regretted the statement issued by the US State Department on the situation of human rights and general freedoms in Sudan, despite the positive signals included in this statement and the affirmation of the American side that it will work together with the government of Sudan in this connection.

Visit of US Congress delegation to Sudan postponed

The visit of US Congress delegation to Sudan scheduled to begin Sunday has been adjourned to a time to be determined later, Official Spokesman of National Assembly Speaker , Dr Abdul-Majid Haroun said in a press release .

The statement attributed the postponement to annulment of all external missions for deputies to approve the federal budget by Congress.

It is to be noted that the US Congress has not passed the federal budget to disagreement between republican and Democrat Congressional deputies .

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the recent regular report issued by the UN Secretary General on the situation in Darfur, which has affirmed stability of the conditions in Darfur and acknowledged that the campaign launched by the government was conducive to boosting the security, peace and stability in the region.

Foreign Minister Receives Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Sudan and South Sudan

President of the Republic, Field Marshal, Omer AL-Basher issued a decree forming the Executive Committee of the Sudanese-Turkish Cooperation chaired by Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz .

Sudan has renewed its complaint over Halayeb Triangle issue through a message forwarded by Sudan permanent envoy to the UN, Ambassador Omer Dahab, to the head of the Security Council in New York.
Sudan permanent envoy has asked the Security Council's Chairman to distribute Sudan message among the council members as one of its documents.

Foreign Ministry Calls on US State Department to Reconsider its Negative Declaration on Religious Freedoms in Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has deeply regretted the declaration of the US State Department on inclusion of Sudan in its list of countries causing a special concern within its periodical report on religious freedoms.
In a statement it issued Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this announcement was contradictory with the appreciation received by Sudan from leaders and outstanding figures at the international religious institutions, top of them were the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Commissioner for Religious Freedoms of the European Union and the delegation of the American Congress, the visit of the Commissioner of Religious Affairs at the US State Department and the Head of the Ethiopian Church who has visited Sudan and appreciated the level of security, freedom and respect of the rights of the Christians in Sudan.
