MAIN ACCOMPLISHMENT:

Restructuring of the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority: From a marginalized department to the third largest revenue generating department within the Government. With The main objectives being:
AIR TRANSPORT SAFETY ASPECTS
COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
AVIATION AND ENGINEERING SERVICES
This has been achieved through three main factors:
HUMAN: More graduates were recruited, extensive training locally and internationally, variety of skilled personnel;
FINANCIAL: The sectorization and clear division of the various activities of CAA and redefinition of the work and reorganization of the workforce enabled us to measure the cost of every operation. This has lead to more revenue and better efficiency, higher salary to the staff, hence quality of service;
TECHNICAL: We built more International Airports, modern navigation equipment covering the whole of Sudan, modern VSAT communication systems, terminal equipment, various trucks, and earth-moving machinery to build the airports. The period has seen hundreds of contracts locally and more internationally. This period has witnessed the first ever Civilian Radar installation bought from Marconi.
MOST IMPORTANT, ALL OFF THESE ACTIVITIES WERE SELF FINANCED
Introduction and design of the internet service in Sudan to cover all of the country though a VSAT and fibre optic links with direct link to backbone in the USA. It was the first service to be introduced in Africa and the Middle East. It has opened many opportunities for investment and employment.
Draft the Sudan Telecommunication 2000 Act which has liberated the market and caused the real communication revolution in Sudan.
Restructuring of an ailing, debt- ridden, abandoned by her customers, neglected by the market and ran out of operation; the national shipping company. After a tough critical five years program we ended up with a more profitable company competing in the international maritime market, (there is no preferential treatment towards the national fleet). Here, again, we implement this program without any access to finance resources: It was hard and tough but we had success. We created more jobs and other opportunities.
I was successful in introducing the first policy of positive-discrimination that was three years before the signing of the peace treaty between Southern Sudan and the Government. This allowed people from the South and East more opportunities.
This has lead to the Nation initiative-AMAL- (hope , in English) to employ around 40,000 graduates, helping in reducing the predicament
of unemployment among the young;
Lead the team that has designed the Master Plan for Sudan transportation system. The plan was called SARR, abbreviation for Sea, Air, Rail and River. The plan has incorporated an integrated system of multimodal transportation philosophy. The Council of ministers has endorsed the plan. Later, it was presented at a special conference of COMSA in Tanzania, to be as a model for other African countries.
Teamed-up with His Excellency Minster of Finance1995-2000 (Sudan) to moderate, control and curb the hyperinflation in the economy until successfully the rate of GDP has exceeded the rate of inflation.
